The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal income tax credit that can save employers up to $2,400 each time they hire someone who is a member of one of eight targeted groups, which have traditionally faced significant barriers to employment. Individuals with disabilities are included in the targeted groups. There are no restrictions on the number of eligible persons an employer can hire. Business Advisory Council

Washington Vocational Services has developed two Business Advisory Committees (One for Skagit and Whatcom Counties and one for Snohomish and King Counties) in addition to participating on a currently existing Business Advisory Committee in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Business Advisory Council helps the participating business discuss and identify hiring needs, assess employment skills of new employees, and brainstorm potential training opportunities and partnerships. Business Advisory members also assist clients with refining their interviewing skills, developing clear resumes, and preparing for the requirements of specific industries.
