Our Story
The Board of Directors and staff of Washington Vocational Services (WVS) believes every person with a disability has employment potential. Our purpose is to match the unique talents of each individual with the specific need of the employer.
WVS has been supporting choice, inclusion, and empowering clients since May 3, 1976. The purpose of the agency was and continues to be assisting persons who have disabilities succeed in the workplace. With the assistance of Edmonds Community College, funding was secured that allowed WVS to move into our first location in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. We currently service communities in the Puget Sound region from Vancouver to the Canadian border.
We are engaged in communities we serve through memberships in Economic Alliance Snohomish County, Economic Development Association of Skagit County and Community Employment Alliance.
Our Board of Directors and dedicated, well-trained staff have assisted well over 4,000 people in their skill development and search for integrated employment. Our primary funding is provided by Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Washington State Developmental Disabilities Administration, and our Social Enterprise business:
